Unit 4: Egypt Notebook

Egypt is one of the world's oldest civilizations.  Egypt is often called "The Gift of the Nile" because without the mighty Nile, Egypt would never have developed.  The purpose of this unit is to familiarize you with the ancient Egyptian civilization, famous pharaohs, Egyptian myths and polytheistic beliefs, and the influence Egypt had on trade in the Middle East.

Essential Questions:


  • How does the culture of Egypt compare to other ancient civilizations of the Middle East?
  • How was Egypt able to grow into a prosperous, successful civilization in ancient times?

Egypt Map Project

Go to Google Classroom to pick up your copy of this assignment.  Search for ancient Egypt maps and use Google Maps to help you label the geographic features, bodies of water, and city-states.

Egyptian Pharaoh Instagram Project

Go to Google Classroom to pick up your copy of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Instagram Project.  Use videos #6, #7, and #8 along with credible websites of your choice to help you create a detailed Instagram account for the pharaoh you choose.
